Elizabethan Make-Up Look

Today I created an original Elizabethan make up look, the pale face, red lips and cheeks and hardly any eye brows with white eyelashes. They used to have white skin to show how superior they are to others, the very high eye brows and hair line making the eyes and fore head look bigger shows 'intelligence' and the red lips were a sign of wealth too.

Health and safety
I followed all health and safety precautions before taking out this task, I did this look on myself so I know I am not allergic to any products and I don't wear eye contacts.

What I used
- Illamasqua matt primer
- Kryolan supra colours
- Illamasqua loose powder
- Kryolan blush palette
- Brushes
- Powder puff
- Spatulas
- Cleanser and toner
- Cotton pads and buds
- Disposable mascara wand

What I did
1. I cleansed my skin to remove any make up and dirt from the face and made sure I removed all my mascara from the very roots of my eye lashes.
2. I then primed the skin using the Illamasqua matt primer, on the face and down the neck.
3. I used a spatula to get the white supra colour on to the back of my hand and I buffed this in to the skin, down the neck and the ears until I was happy with the density of colour on the skin.
4. When I had finished buffing the white I used the Illamasqua loose powder to set the white all over the face, neck and ears.
5. I used the white again on a mascara wand to get the eye brows nice and white and also on the lashes, making sure I got right in to the root so you cant see any dark.
6. Once I was happy with the coverage on the lashes and the brows I moved on to the lips. I used the dark red supra colour with an angled brush to get a precise line on the lips.
7. Using an angled fluffy brush I used the red out the Kryolan blusher palette to create the apples of the cheeks red.

This was the look finished it was fairly easy to create as there isn't too much to an Elizabethan style.
This is the finished look -

Reflection
I'm happy with how this look came out on me as I feel as though I did a good job blending the white out, getting it all down the neck as even as the face and on the ears too. I like how the eye brows and the eye lashes came out as the white look, looks very strange but very effective to a make up look.
I am getting better at applying lip stick with a lip brush as I find it much easier as it is more precise than a lip liner.

I don't feel as though I am unhappy with anything that I did today, the only thing I would change was the size of the brush I used to apply the white on to the skin. I used a small-ish buffing brush when I could have used a bigger one to apply the product quicker and it could possibly buff it out easier too.

Overall, I am very happy with how my Elizabethan look turned out, I liked the look as it was very different to anything I have done before but I liked the out come. I liked learning how to apply the Supra colours on to the eye brows and the eye lashes too as that gives a really good effect to a make up look.
