Skin Conditions

On the face clients can some times have skin conditions of diseases, it's really important that you can tell what these are and identify then before you start so you don't put the client or yourself at risk.

Three conditions are -

Conjunctivitis
This is a contagious eye infection, the eye will be red and swollen and will have a gooey discharge coming from the tear duct of the eye. Also when the client wakes up from sleeping the eye may be stuck together. If the clients eyes look red ask them if there okay and if they have conjunctivitis then do not put any make up on the area.
This will infect your make up and your brushes and could make the eye a lot worse. It needs time to get better so no make up for at least 5 days.

Psoriasis
This is a skin condition where the skin cells over produce and it creates dry patches on the skin. It can be in the hair line too or on the face. It can be quite itchy and red and can even crack the skin in some cases.
Make up can sometimes irritate the skin so applying none or products for sensitive skin would be the best thing to do in this case.

Coldsaw
These will appear around the mouth area and can be contagious. They are red blisters and can be painful too, there are a lot of treatments out there to help get them to heal quicker but they usually last 7-10 days.
Do not apply any make up on the area or even on the client as you do not want to put yourself at risk of catching it or passing it on to other people.
