Blog Reflection

Today I had another student look at my blog. I don't really like people looking at my work when I don't know if it is up to scratch, I hate doing presentations in front of people too, so when I had to have someone look at my work I was feeling so anxious.
I know I have done a lot as I had tried to keep up to date on all my work but you never know if someone has done so much more than you or if theirs is better than yours. But we are all in the same situation so I thought it can't be that bad.

When we swapped blogs over she was looking and reading away, the same as I was to hers and I thought straight away "phew, I've done more blog posts and written more in the blog posts so mine can't be too bad".

As we have three different blogs to keep up to date on its hard to know which one to start on or which one I should do on which day, so I try do a post or add more into bigger research posts each day on each blog.

Looking through my friends blog was good as I could see what she has done and we have both done about the same in the blog posts that she had. Although my advice to her was there a little short so more information needed to be added. She had it all there but it was too short and not really structured. Also, she needs to keep on top of her blog posts as there weren't many there.

Advice

1. A lot of information written and super detailed

I was really happy with this point because I didn't think I had enough in some of my posts that I had finished, but I must have done it okay if my partner thinks I have a lot of information in the posts.
I know I do need to go through some of my posts and add some more to it too.

2. Need to do more of the major blog posts, but I like how you note down after your lesson so you remember it all

I need to do more of the bigger blog posts as I have been doing the other ones as I have all the information on me so I just need to get on and catch up on those bigger ones and then I know they are done. After every lesson if I don't have time to write up the blog I write a few notes in the blog to remind myself what I need to do and the title so I know which one is which.

3. Could do with more films clips, and book references and portrait pictures of paintings

I need to add more visual things in to my blogs, I need to research some little video clips which I can add and I need to finish off blogs by adding some photos. The thing I find difficult at the minute is that I go to the library and all the books are out so I cant use the books to get the references out of them. I have written up the blog posts but I just need to add the little details in them when I get chance to get the books.

Reflection

When I got my feedback I was very open to it all as I want to improve, I want my posts to be as good as I can make them. Including what I can and what I think is relevant, there's nothing worse than repeating yourself in each blog. Then you're not getting the readers attention and your not doing the right work for that post.

I really liked having someone look at my blog, even though I know I was nervous at the start I feel like it really helped me to keep going adding different and new things I didn't think of. I went back through my blogs and looked at what I could add or change and I have started making those amendments now so I don't forget in a few weeks.

What I didn't like what giving her total control of my blog, I wanted to see what she was doing and what she was reading because then I know what she might be thinking. That's the only thing I didn't like but I'm glad I didn't show I was nervous to change as she helped me in the end to make my blog better.

The feedback she gave me was really helpful as I thought I didn't have enough in my blogs but she thinks I do have, which was a good thing for me. The other two points I understood as I do need to add some more visual things on to my blog and I also need more references so I am going to work on those.

Overall, I think I will swap blogs more often as then we can give each other adivce, show what areas we think might need changing, what we can add or if we have missed out any information or even a ful blog post. I liked getting the chance to see what other people have done and what they have included in their blogs so I can see where they get their information or their inspiration from too.
