Films and Actors Who Portrayed Elizabeth

There are plenty of films and programmes out there that have real facts based on Queen Elizabeth, here are a few different films and programmes which I found that are based on Elizabeth. I have watched some of them but not all of them. I do find these programmes interesting but then I also find them repetitive when it is based on the same person. I suppose they can only use real life events to go on so they will all go on the same thing.

Elizabeth I - Channel 4
This programme is based on Queen Elizabeth, who is played by Helen Mirren. She portrays the Queen in her later years with many more actors. She suits the character so much as she is representing her later years she looks the part and does a good job of being the Queen. This one was made in 2005 and played on Channel 4, it is still available to watch online too.
Elizabeth - 1998
The films is based on Queen Elizabeth from when she was a child to growing up and dealing with her new responsibilities as being the Queen. The main actor who plays Elizabeth is Cate Blanchett, she does a great job of being the stern Queen from that era and portrays her perfectly, maybe this is why she was chosen to play her again in the follow up film. The film was nominated for numerous awards and won an Oscar.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - 2007
Again, Cate Blanchett portrays the Queen, the film is the follow up from Elizabeth and it shows us her troubles, events and love events through the later years of her life. This is also a great film just like the first one as they are the same characters its easier to follow and remember what happened in the first one. I really like how they have used Cate Blanchett in this film too as she did a really good job getting into character in the last film I think she did great. The film also won an Oscar, had loads on nominations and some of those too.
